How to Turn on Vertical Tabs on the Microsoft Edge Web Browser

If you frequently use multiple tabs, you might want to enable the vertical tabs feature in the Microsoft Edge browser.
How to Enable Vertical Tabs
- Right-click on any tab.
- Select "Turn on vertical tabs."
Hotkey Method
- You can also use the shortcut:
Ctrl + Shift + ,
Once enabled, the tabs will shift to the left side of your screen. Hovering over the tab area will expand it and display the text for each tab.
Keeping the Tab Pane Open
- To keep the tab pane open without needing to hover, click the "Pin Pane" option. This keeps the pane visible regardless of the mouse pointer's location.
Collapsing the Tab Pane
- To revert, click the "Collapse Pane" icon. This will allow the pane to only expand when you hover over it.
Switching Between Tab Modes
- To switch back to horizontal tabs, press
Ctrl + Shift + ,
again. - Pressing the same combination will toggle back to vertical tabs.
This feature can enhance your browsing experience by making tab management more efficient.

If you work with a lot of tabs, it might be worth enabling vertical tabs, a feature from the Microsoft Edge web browser.
To enable that, right click anywhere on the tabs and click turn on vertical tabs.
There's also hotkey control shift, comma.
Now you can see the tabs went to the left hand side of my screen.
And if I hover there, it will expand and show me the text for each tab.
If you want to keep that instead of moving away the mouse, when you move away, you can click the pin pane.
And now it's always going to be there no matter where your mouse pointer is.
If you want to bring that back, just click the collapse pane icon again.
And then it will only expand when you hover over the lateral bar.
If you want to move back simply do the reverse operation.
You can also press control shift comma and it goes back to horizontal tabs.
If I press control shift comma again, it will revert to vertical tabs.
